The typical industrial sludge cake from filter press, belt press, decanter or a centrifuge may have a dry solid percentage of 25% – 40% (or 75% – 60% moisture content). Hence, a large percentage of the weight of the cake is actually from its water content – which leads to a costly disposal fee especially if the waste is hazardous to the environment.
Watropur Sludge Dryer uses recycled, warm, dry air to gently dry the cake up to 90% dried solids (10% moisture content). The saturated air which comes off the top of the sludge container is passed over refrigerated coils, where the moisture is removed, and then reheated prior to injection into the container. Watropur Sludger Dryer is capable to produce up to 70-80% reduction in weight of the sludge cake and this will significantly reduce hauling and disposal cost.
